'Sweet Something' Quilt Along Week Five

Week Five - November 29 (or, join us as soon as you can - late arrivals welcome!)

This week we move onto making our Hourglass Blocks. They're fiddly little suckers, but integral to the overlook look of this quilt. We're going to spread them out over two weeks which makes the task a bit more manageable. I don't know about you, but it's a busy week here for me. My son & I have our annual day of putting up the Christmas lights outside (can you feel my husband's eye rolling? He was banned years ago - too much huffing & puffing, & not enough seasonal cheer!! 😁). Also, we have a beautiful, big, fresh pine tree to decorate inside. I love Christmas! And, I love sewing at Christmas. Amongst the busyness it is an escape for me. Some self care & some me time.

This week's Instagram homework:

1. search our hashtag (#sweetsomethingquilt), then like & comment on each other's posts; take a look at what everyone else is making

2. once you've completed this week's Hourglass Blocks, style them into an artsy pile & take a picture - perhaps next to your favourite sewing notions, or a plant baby, or a Christmas display...

This week's 'Sweet Something' target: is to complete half of the Hourglass Blocks, as per the pattern instructions.
